WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY 2017: THREE DAYS TO GO

In just three days from now, consumers all over the globe will be celebrating the World Consumer Rights Day. With the theme, “Building a Digital World Consumers can Trust”, the ultimate goal is to ensure that consumers are not short-changed by product and service providers in today’s digital world. The new technology calls for transparency and mutual trust among contracting parties.

Issues of concern which must be addressed to improve consumer protection in the digital age include security of personal information; accessibility and affordability of Internet services; complex contract terms and consumerredress mechanisms.

In line with the vision of our Organisation, we call for reciprocal consciousness of rights and duties by consumers and suppliers of products and services with a view to optimizing the benefits of the digital age.

Be an active consumer. Join consumer advocates across the globe to brainstorm on how to build a better digital world for the benefit of all stakeholders.
