COUNTDOWN TO THE WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY 2021 (TWO DAYS TO GO)
By Professor Felicia Monye, President, Consumer Awareness Organisation
THEME: TACKLING PLASTIC POLLUTION
The World Consumer Rights Day is a global annual event celebrated on 15 March every year to create consumer awareness and protest the practices that undermine the rights of consumers. This year, the focus is on Plastic Pollution. Consumer activists around the globe are using the opportunity to explore consumers’ attitude to tackling plastic pollution, the complexities of change, the importance of the 7Rs (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair and Replace), and the ambitions consumers should hold for the future.
Today, we bring you the graphic illustration of last of the seven Rs (Replace). Please see attached picture.
